The Summer Palace is China's leading classical garden which served as an imperial palace for short stays away from the capital. It is included into the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998 and was declared that "a masterpiece of Chinese Landscape garden design." The natural landscape of hills and open water is combined with artificial features such as pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges to form a harmonious ensemble of outstanding aesthetic value.

The Great Wall is one of the greatest wonders of the world, and is listed as a world Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching from east to west of China. It was originally built to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groups. With a history of more than 2,000 years, it is still one of the most appealing attractions all around the world owing to its architectural grandeur and historical significance.

It is rectangular in shape, and is the world's largest palace complex. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.

The Temple of Heaven is a complex of Taoist buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing. The complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. It is regards as a Taoist temple, although Chinese Heaven worship, especially by the reigning monarch of the day, pre-dates Taoism. It is located in a 50-year old out of service military factory complex with a functional Bauhaus-influenced design.
